Origami bases are often the starting point of models and projects. The Kite Base is one of a group of traditional bases that are used in both traditional and more modern origami designs.

How to Fold the Kite Base
| Step | Diagram |

| 1. Start with a square of paper, white side up |  |
| 2. Fold the paper in half diagonally and unfold |  |
| 3. Fold both edges to the centre line |  |
| 4. You have completed the Kite Base | |
