Welcome to Origami Expressions’s celebration of World Origami Days!

World Origami Days (WOD) run annually from 24 October to 11 November. It is a time to enjoy origami and share it with others.  The dates were chosen as 24 October is the birthday of Lillian Oppenheimer, who did a great deal to promote origami and increase its popularity around the world.  She was one of the founding members of both OrigamiUSA and the British Origami Society.  11 November is Origami Day in Japan.

On their WOD page, OrigamiUSA is encouraging people to hold origami events and share origami with other people.  They have a range of resources available to anyone that wants to hold an origami event.

As part of WOD, Origami Expressions will be increasing its output.  There will be a new post every day.  Some of these will be traditional models with instructions, some of them will be more complex ones that might inspire others to take up origami and try some of the models on this site.

Please click here for WOD 2015 post 1: 24 October, and check back tomorrow for the next one.  Thanks for reading, and enjoy WOD!
